Child therapy →When Mexico City is home, but not quite yet
Moving to a new country can be exciting and hard at the same time. People come to Mexico City for work, love, or a fresh start — and sometimes find that some things followed them, or that new questions showed up. Therapy can be a place to make sense of that, in your own language.
- Settling into a new city, language, and culture
- Being far from family, friends, and your usual support
- Loneliness, or a social life that hasn't taken shape yet
- Work pressure, uncertainty, or a career in transition
- Questions about who you are now that so much has changed
- Grief, including the losses that come with leaving home
A narrative approach: you are not the problem
I work from narrative therapy, a respectful, non-pathologizing approach built on one idea: the problem is the problem, not the person. Together we look at the stories that have been shaping your life — including the ones you didn't choose — and find room for the parts of you those stories leave out.
You don't need to have everything figured out before you start; we'll begin with what brings you here. If you're curious, read what to expect in your first therapy session or learn more about narrative therapy.
